Hello fellow Americans!

Happy one year to meeeeee!

{Ridin' around on exchanges}

Man, Heavenly Father really does answer prayers! This past week has been phenomenal. I can't believe how quickly the transfer is already flying by! So, as a lot of you already know, I now have a new
companions named sister Phillips! And she is such a delight! :)

Sister Phillips and I have quickly become the best of friends, and we are seeing miracles left and right! I'm happier than I've been in a while, and I think it all has to do with this lady's wonderful attitude about life and love for the work!

{Ladies who lunch}

So let's see... There were a few firsts these past couple of weeks! For example, for the first time ever, someone tried pressuring me into drinking alcohol! I've never had that happen to me before! Not sure if it's due to the Utah bubble I've lived in my whole life, or if it's just the wonderful humans I hung out with back home. But yeah! Sister Phillips and I were at a less active member's house, and she was telling us all about how her late husband would concoct these "wonderful" alcoholic beverages, and she began pouring a glass for each of us to try out! We were like....... Ahh! Is this really happening right now?? 😂 it was funny though. Thankfully, she wasn't offended when we kindly declined.

Oh! Another random fun fact! People are starting to think I'm a pure bred Canadian around here. Apparently the "American accent" is slowly diminishing... It's kinda fun to fit in in the great white north though. :)

Alright, miracle time... Which one should I choose?? Ah, how about Verena. So last week, we had a fantastic supper with some members in our ward named the Payne's! We shared a message with them afterward about keeping the Sabbath day holy, and we proceeded to ask them for referrals. WELL they gave us the longest list of referrals I have ever gotten on my whole mission! It was beautiful! And one of them lived right by their house, so we decided to stop by after supper, because our previous plans had fallen through. And you know what? The timing was perfect, because if we had not asked for referrals and decided to stop by one of the houses afterwards, then we would not have had the amazing miracle that I am about to tell you about! So the referral they gave us was not interested... BUT as we were walking away, we saw this woman walking these two huge dogs, and we decided to start talking with her! It was amazing! The conversation just flowed into a gospel conversation, and she was so genuinely interested to read about the Book of Mormon, especially because she has been researching different religions for a really long time now. So we gave her a copy, told her about it, and set up a time to see her this week! I am so excited! She's totally going to love the gospel and then she's gonna get baptized.

Isn't it amazing how the Lord makes things happen for us though? We didn't even have to go out of our way for that to happen. I am so thankful for the trust that the Lord has in us!! It feels good to know that he is willing to put us in the paths of those whom he has prepared. Stay tuned to hear what happens with Verena. I feel really good about this one. :)

{Working hard!}

Ahh but the missionary work is going really well! We're working with a ton of less active members, and the other day we helped these two women clean out their basement, because it flooded. Crazy stuff. They were suuuuper nice though, and we saw them at Walmart today as well. :) I love doing service. It's really fun, because people are so much more accepting of us sometimes when we just help them out in various ways. So yeah we basically took a bunch of her stuff to the dump, and then helped take out the carpet as well. Some elders came to helps as well. Good times, good times!

Well I love ya! I miss ya. :) can't believe how fast this transfer is flying by already. This is one of the happiest times on my whole mission. I'm loving it.

I just love this gospel, and I LOVE being able to share it with everyone in Edmonton! AND I love all of you for all of the support and love that you show to me! Thank you for choosing Jesus. I hope you all have a fantastic week.

Peace & blessings!

P.S. Here are some pictures of the fun service project we did this week where we helped clean out a basement that had been flooded! Enjoy. :)

Hey everyone!

Today is going to be short, because we are just keeping ourselves very very busy out here!

{Our stake hosted an open house, and we got to tell non-members who came about missionaries of the world!}

But today I want to talk about tender mercies. Tender mercies are those things that God does for us, simply because he loves us and wants us to be happy. They are what missionaries depend on! We count the tender mercies and miracles that we see each day! I feel like Nephi sometimes, because in the beginning of the Book of Mormon, he says something along the lines of "I am going to show you the tender mercies of the Lord." And I feel like each week that is what I am trying to do. I want you all to know that the Lord loves you! God loves you! He is reaching out to each and every one of you each and every day. All you have to do is take his hand and follow him. :)

{Hanging out with the Sisters}
With all that in mind, here is a tender mercy I would like to share with all of you:

Remember that woman, Verena, we met who was walking her dogs one day? And we were super pumped because she was super pumped to read the Book of Mormon?! Well on Friday, we had to cancel an appointment with a less active member we are working with, because of poor planning on our part. But after that, we were left with absolutely nothing to do. Until.... (Drum roll please) we received a text from Verena asking us to come over right at that very second! We were so excited and amazed that the Lord in his infinite wisdom had made it so that we would have to cancel our appointment with the less active member so we could teach Verena! And guess what. It was the best lesson ever. The spirit was strong. God is good, people.

Okay that is all for this week. :) thanks for listening/reading.
